I enjoyed your book,"Southerners in Blue" very much. It is so interesting how events that took place in Northwest Alabama are alike to those that happen in the Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina regions. Alabama had their Bill Looney and Daniel Ellis was a guide and scout for the Union in the Tennessee and North Carolina border area. I was wondering why Looney shot the man on horseback in the book, thanks for telling us why. James.
