Beth,

Mark Trobridge is my great great uncle. I'm descended from his older brother Lewis. Mark's brother George left England for South Africa in the late 1870's, where he worked in the diamond mines in Kimberley. I believe Mark followed him there, but I'm not certain. Mark died at age 57. My grandfather, who fought in the Boer War and settled in Johannesburg about 1902, said conditions were tough in South Africa, and Mark died young. Mark was the youngest of seven children born in Newton St. Cyres to John Trobridge and Susannah Davey. I can give you more information about the family if you are interested.

My e-mail is tracy21794@yahoo.com

Tracy.
