William Blackburn Smithers was the son of my 2nd great-grandparents, Jesse and Anna Shipley Smithers (Smiddy in 1840 Campbell Co., TN Fed. census). His wife, Marie Theresa Staley, was the daughter of my 2nd great-grandparents, Enoch Johnson and Rachel (Thrasher) Staley. I had no idea Wm Blackburn Smithers moved his family to Tippecanoe Co. after 1900 Lawrence Co. census.
