Hello, I have just recently started researching my mother's side of the family and boy is it HARD finding documents on Slovak Immigrants! My mother's parents are Donald Slazinski and Mary Ann Budicky of Pennsylvania. Donald's parents were Andrew Slazinski married to Martha Dombrowski (changed her name to Dunbar) they made their home in Allegheny County, Pa. Going back a generation farther has proven quite difficult. I can't find any information on Andrew Slazinski's parents. I believe that Martha Dombrowski's parents were Adam and Mary Dombrowski, Adam was born in Canada and Mary had immigrated from Russia to Canada as a child. I'm not certain of my Dombrowski information though...I would like more documents to back this up. The Budicky line seems just as hard if not harder to find information on... I have my grandmother Mary Ann Budicky's parents as John Budicky and Frances Zoldak/Soldak, they made their home in Carrolltown, Pa. BothbJohn Budicky and Frances Zoldak immigrated to the U.S as children with parents...I believe John Budicky's parents were John Budicky SR and Mary Gayan. They also had another child named Anna Budicky, she married a George Kanik. I believe Frances Zoldak's parents were a Mike Zoldak and Susanna Guian (possibly Gayan as well.) I believe they were from the Cleveland area. If anyone has any information on any of these Surnames please get back to me!
