I am looking for my husband's side of the family. His grandparents lived along Mission Blvd between Hayward, CA and Niles, which is now the Fremont area. The family story goes that there were 15 brothers and sisters. My husband can only remember a few names from when he was little. His father's name was Anthony. Anthony would have been born in the early 1900's and he married a woman named Margaret Ruiz. He had a brother named Bill (william) who married a woman named Ida ad they lived outside of Niles. A different brother (Joe???) who worked in the slaughterhouse in or near Los Olivas. A sister named Polly who married into the SILVA (Anthony) family and he worked at the Morton salt plant in Newark. A sister, Mary, who married into the MADERA (Joseph???) family. A sister Agnus who married into the LEWIS (Frank) family. The Lewis's had an airconditioning and sheet metal business in Niles (now Fremont). There was another sister who married into the COSTA family and they lived in Stockton. If any of this is familiar to you. Please contact me. I would love to learn more! Jackie & Marty Alameda |
