i was in the midst of reading some of my family history concerning the " Shively's" in my family.. Its soo strange.. because my Shively's are from the exact same place as yours....as a matter of fact.. here is a brief exerp from my shively's history book " Lettie and her daughter Violet, were free mulatto women who had been given funds to go from their native Ashville,NC home to New York State. It is believed that their resources were exhausted by the time they reached the state of pennsylvania because there they joined 2 white men who were in enroute to kentucky. These men, Thoman and William Shively were brothers. William and Violet became the parents of William Leslie and Edmund Nathaniel Shively. William Leslie died at the age of 6 and Edmund Nathaniel became the husband of Octavia Richardson..... the ended up in Ohio County,KY.. there family spreaded by the way of Daviess County.. Owensboro,KY.. Bowling Green.. etc.. pleace contact me .. there may be a possible connection here.. though.... there are mulattoes involved... But remember this was the early and mid 1800's... that stuff happened then!!! please write back!!
