Hello, I've been tring to find the father of Jacob Shively b. abt. 1766 in Switzerland or Holland who arrived in Virginia while a young boy. His father was supposedly Jacob (I) Sr. And that's all I have on him. Jacob (II) married Ann (Nancy) Popkins b. abt 1767 in Viriginia (maybe Hampshire co.)and they married abt. 1789 and lived then in Loudoun Co.,,,,They were comtempories with the Hanks, Mocks, Jacksons who all moved to Muskingum co., Ohio, abt 1817. Jacob and Ann had 10 children in Virginia before they all left for Ohio. the children are:
William b.1790, Hannah, Mary Ann, Catharine, John, Jacob III, Anne, Elinor, Elizabeth, and Sarah Jane b.1813 in that order. I have alot on these ppl on down....I am especially interested in finding Jacob IIs father or any of his siblings....AND anything on Ann Popkins family........I have found nothing on Popkins...although there are Popkins in Virginia even now.
Due to the fact there are SO many Jacob Shivelys in Virginia and Pa., this has been difficult to sort them...Please help........Regards, Marj
