Thank you for the reply--I was thrilled to receive it. Gladys Shirkey is indeed my Aunt Gladys. Her children were my mother's first cousins. G. Don and G. Lynn are now deceased. Because I am relatively new to genealogy, I was remiss in writing down my sources. I am ever so much wiser now and am going back and redoing everything I have done to date, being sure to cite my sources. Somewhere I have found that Harvey remarried a Mary C. and had another son, Thomas R. I have also found where Lucretia remarried in 1903 from the Midwest Historical & Genealogical Society's Marriage Affidavits from Sedgwick Co., KS. I have Harvey's death and burial as 12/28/1922 at age 83, buried in Laurel Hill Cemetary from the Iowa Graves Registration Survey in Polk County. I do know that John M. and Martha Pocock divorced and he later remarried, but no source--only family lore. My grandfather John divorced Frances and remarried also. I would love anything you have and as I go back and redo, will gladly send sources. I still think lots of what I have may be wrong, but that's why I do this--to find out what's true! Anything you find will be greatly appreciated--you have already taught me much about citing and sources! karen |
