I have been trying to connect some SHERGOLD families found on the 1881 census for Great Wishford but unable to account for two of the three I have found; perhaps someone else can identify them. I have James Shergold 27, born Great Wishford with wife Jane 23 born South Newton; Daus. Sarah age 2 and Emma age 1 both born Great Wishford. Who were the parents of James? I have another James Shergold, same census age 46 born Baverstock, Wilts; sons Harry 13 born in Durnford; William 10 born Salisbury. Also in the house is a Lodger, Henry Burden 19. Who is this James Shergold? The 3rd one I found I could put onto my tree: James 28, born Bishopstone with wife Ellen (Eleanor Trowbridge) 26, sons Charles J. age 3 and Thomas F. age 1 both born in Salisbury..this James was bapt. 20 Mar 1853 in Broad Chalk, son of William Shergold and Kezia (Mitchell)Foyle (sometimes picked up as Fozle).
