Hello, Does anyone have any information of the Sheppards from the coalfields in and around Chilcompton, England in the early to mid 1700s or have access to the records at Midsomer Norton Parish? My earliest known ancestor is George Sheppard born abt. 1765 - place of birth unknown, but assumed to be in or near Chilcompton. George married Mary Welch. I have one child for them: James Sheppard b. 10 Aug 1810 in Chilcompton. James married Eliza Burgess (both born in 1810 in Chilcompton). They had at least 10 children born between 1828 and 1851. Any information would be helpful. Thank you. K
