Hi, I'm trying to find information about John Shelton 1790-1847 m. Sarah "Sallie" McComas b.1796 or 1803 D. 11/1851 John and Sarah had a son Elisha or Elihue (Grandson of General Elisha McComas) I have Gen. Elisha Shelton and John Shelton living in Cabell county, Virginia in the 1840 Census. (Shown on the same page of the census.) It seems that John Shelton died about 1850, and then Henrietta Shelton Lived with her brother, Elisha Shelton in the 1850 Census and she is about 15 at that time. So birth around 1835. In the 1860 Census, Henrietta is not with brother Elisha Shelton. But, she shows up as married to John Esque (Eskew). I have seen it online that some think that Henrietta Shelton descended from Sarah McComas married a John Twidwell. However, my research shows that John Twidwell m. Henrietta E. Shelton on 10 Oct 1839 in McDonough, Illinois. (Family History Library, Salt Lake City source.) So this Henrietta Shelton couldn't be the Henrietta that was born abt. 1835 since this Henrietta got married in 1839 and would've been about 4 years old if she were the same person. Does anyone have further info on this. Any info when and where John Esque (Eskew) married Henrietta Shelton. Where was John living when they married? Thanks for any help or info.
