I am looking for information on the Sheltons of Tennessee. I believe the time frame is around 1800 to 1845. I think my great great Grandfathers name would have been Stephen Shelton or possibly John. They moved to Alabama ca 1845-49 as my greatfather was born in Alabama in 1848/49. His name was John Elbert. It seems that Stephen and John are family names. Any information would be appreciated.
