During our research we have reached Mary Selmes Hayward, who married Samuel Slatter in Battle, Sussex in March 1823. According to later censuses she was born in Battle in about 1805, and her father may have been John Hayward. Can anyone tell us who her mother was, and how she is related to the Selmes family?
