Michael, We definitely do have a connection. According to my records, your Christopher Seaver was the son of Jeremiah Seaver and Elvira Counts (Kountz). Jeremiah had a brother named Christopher, who is also said to have moved to Hawkins Co, TN from Wythe Co, VA, but no more is known of him. My husband is descended from another brother, John Seaver(s), who married Nancy Riggle and lived in Wythe until his death in 1835. Their father, first name unknown, died in 1817 in Wythe and is one of my most frustrating brick walls. I have some theories, but that's all. Jane S. Fairburn is a descendant of Jeremiah and has done some very fine research on him and his descendants. Jeremiah was born 15 mar 1805 in VA and died 28 jul 1869 in Hamblen Co, TN (close to Hawkins). Jeremiah had 11 childen by his first wife, Nancy Thurman, and 8 by Elvira. I have Christopher born 30 mar 1855 and marrying Fannie Campbell 13 may 1877 in Hawkins Co, TN. Christopher had a half-brother named Winton Wiley Seaver. Because Jeremiah was a minor when his father died, his name appears in some Wythe Co. court documents which have been transcribed and published by Mary Kegley. Pat |
