If you go to Scotland's People, you will be able to VIEW the Scanned IMAGE of the original document, although it is unlikely to have more detail.

The apparent absence of his wife suggests that she probably died earlier, between 1828 and early 1841.

================================

You might find a Scanned IMAGE the Death of WL in 1845, in Scotland's People.

He may have been involved in the "Second Statistical Account" of Scotland in the 1830s and 1840s, so you may be able to find more information in that.

Breakfast has been called, otherwise I would have followed through.
