The Colonel was married twice. His first wife was Alice Winders Brown of Pittsburgh. She passed on in the early 1880's. His second wife was Rebecca Cook of Cincinnati. The Colonel's parents were James and Mary Clark Stockton Schoonmaker. James, the father came to Pitttsburgh around 1836 and set up as a druggist and paint manufacturer. The father was raised on the home farm near the Erie Basin of New York |
