Hi Barbara, I'm new here and your records above agree with mine. Charles Oscar Snider (11/30/1857-12/6/1922) was my great-grandfather, and Charles Frederick Schneider was his father, making Louisa Charles Oscar's sister.
Charles Frederick changed his name from Schneider to the more anglicized Snider on immigration to Canada, exact date unknown but probably sometime after 1840.
I have little information about Louisa except that she was born in 1854 in Collingwood, Ontario. In 1859 the family moved to Bruce Mines, Ontario. Additionally I only have this about her: "[Louisa] married a man named McLain. They made their home in the state of Washington where she died (date unknown). There was no family."
Does this agree with your records?
My records show none of Louisa's siblings nor any of these Schneiders or Sniders being in Michigan before 1923.
Charles Oscar's daughter, Roxie Snider (1887-1982) was my grandmother. She married my grandfather, George Albert Allyn (1880-1971) of Comber, Ontario in Bruce Mines in July 1912. George and Roxie made their home in Bruce Mines where their two sons were born, my father and his brother. The family did not move to Michigan until 1923 when George got a job at the Ford Motor Co. plant there.
I hope this helps? If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
