Maximillian SCHNEIDER and wife Catherine PISTNER lived in Cincinnatti, OH before moving to Millhousen, Indiana. Maximillian is credited as a pioneer of Millhousen, Indiana, and for bringing possibly 20 families with him. He also possibly named the small predominately German town (according to a book on Decatur County), but there is no record of government involvement.
Maximillian's was the immigrant to the United States, from Herbstein, Germany. Johannes A. SCHNEIDER (b.1759) and Anna C (b.1762) were his parents. Both were born and passed in Herbstein (Hessen) Germany. Johannes' parents were George A. SCHNEIDER (b.1717) and Maria U RUHL (b.1718), also residents of Herbstein... and George's parents were Nicolaus SCHNEIDER (b.1690) and Anna WINDERBOERNER (b.1687), also in Herbstein.
I am looking for information as to how he got to the United States (where he came through), and any more family information you may have out there.
My ancestor, George C. SCHNEIDER (Father: Francis J (b.1845 IN), G-Father: Maximillian) was born in Indiana (b. 1878) and migrated to Lane Co, Oregon. He married Ella M Addison.
I realize that Schneider is a common last name, but it would be nice to find out more about my family. Thanks for your help!
