All I have on this particular family is:

1. William Garrett MATHEWS {M854S},(1, 2, 3) son of Richard MATHEWS and
Unknown, was born on 20 Nov 1786 in Halifax, NC, died in Jun 1850 in
Edgefield District, SC at age 63, and was buried in Travis Park
Cemetary.

William married Mary Quarles MATHEWS {M854},(1, 4, 5) daughter of Lewis
MATHEWS {M85} and Nancy ALLEN {M85S}. Mary was born in 1798, died in Jul
1886 in Edgefield District, SC at age 88, and was buried in Travis Park
Cemetary.

Children from this marriage were:

2 M i. Joseph MATTHEWS {M8541}(6) was born in 1818 and died in Aug 1902
at age 84.
3 F ii. Nancy MATTHEWS {M8542}(6) was born in 1820 and died on 15 Mar
1898 at age 78.
4 M iii. Lewis Cleaves MATTHEWS {M8543}(1, 6) was born in 1823 and died in
Jan 1905 at age 82.
+ 5 F iv. Alsey E. MATTHEWS {M8544}(1, 6) was born on 13 Mar 1826 and
died on 5 Nov 1914 at age 88.
6 F v. Susan O. MATTHEWS {M8545}(1, 6) was born about 1827 and died in
Feb 1905 about age 78.
7 M vi. Richard Furman MATTHEWS {M8546}(6) was born on 14 Feb 1830 and
died on 19 Jun 1905 at age 75.
8 M vii. William Garrett MATTHEWS {M8547}(1, 6) was born about 1832 and
died in Oct 1907 about age 75.
9 M viii. John B. MATTHEWS {M8548}(1, 6) was born on 22 Feb 1835 and died
on 26 May 1918 at age 83.
10 M ix. George W. MATTHEWS {M8549}(1, 6) was born on 25 May 1837 and
died on 28 Jan 1911 at age 73.

Second Generation (Children)

5. Alsey E. MATTHEWS {M8544}(1, 6) was born on 13 Mar 1826 and died on 5 Nov
1914 at age 88.

Alsey married Rev. John Quincy ADAMS.(3) John was born on 10 Jul 1827 in
Edgefield County, SC and died on 27 Jul 1893 at age 66.

The child from this marriage was:

11 M i. John Quincy ADAMS was born in 1859 in Edgefield County, SC.

I'm sorry, but I have no idea where that cemetery is. My grandfather left Saluda in the 1930s and I've only been there a couple of times. However, I can tell you where I got the cemetery data. I got it from a book at the Old Edgefield District Genealogical Society called Cemetaries: Our Saluda County Ancestors, Vol I. The "book" is one of those type written, staple bound jobs and it either had no author/compiler or I failed to write it down. By chance I was actually going to be back in Edgefield Thursday doing some research so if I can remember I'll check the book to see if a location is given. Or, you could probably contact the Edgefield Society. Their web site is oedgs.org. There is an email contact address on the web page.

I'd love pictures of your grandparents. I like trying to collect old ones of immediate and not so immediate family. Any info on that family beyond what I have listed would be much appreciated. My email is dial_zero@nospam_yahoo.com. Leave out the nospam_ part :)
