The 1860 Pickens County census lists David Fowler age 50 as head of household with Sarah Holbrook age 40 and her children Mary A., Henry, Isham, Lucy A. and Martha. Is this David Fowler the same David F. Fowler in the 1850 Pickens County census with wife Elizabeth and children Melissa E., Julia Anne, Daniel M., James B., Samuel M., Miles P. and Elizabeth? The 1860 Dawson County Georgia census lists Elizabeth and all her above children, but David is missing from the family. Would like to confirm that the 1850 and 1860 are the same David Fowler if possible. Family members have been told that the 1850 David F. Fowler abandoned his family in Dawson County, Georgia and returned to South Carolina. We have a letter addressed to Elizabeth Fowler dated 1853 mentioning "Mr. Fowler" sold out too soon in South Carolina. We believe he returned to Pickens County without the Georgia family. If you have informaation, please contact me. Thank you.
