All I have is what was pubilshed in the Maret/Marett family index of "Visit Our Family Tree".
Here's what it says on page 98/99:
ANDREW JACKSON MARET, 7th ch of Stephen & Lucy (Walters) Maret, was b 6 Dec 1817, Pendlton Dist, SC; d 17 May 1891; bur Beaverdam Bapt Ch Cem, Fair Play, Oconee Co, SC. Andrew served as a Pvt, 1st Bttn, SC State Troops, CSA, and was captured 17 May 1864 at Hartwell, GA. He was a Master Mason.
On 18 Sep 1844, Andrew 1st mar NANCY P. GUEST -- who was b 16 Sep 1825; d 18 Sep 1864; bur Beaverdam Bapt Ch Cem, Fair Play, Oconee Co, SC.
Known Issue (9):

2. Eliza Jane "Liza" Marett (1848-1905)
3. Elijah Clayton "E.C." Marett (1850-1935)
4. Sara Margaret "Sallie" Marett (1852-1932)
5. Lucinda Cassendine Marett (1854- )
6. Cornelia C. Marett (1856-1931)
7. Allen Reed Marett (1859-1938)
8. Harriet Texana Marett (1861-1911)
9. Amanda Missouri Marett (1863-1884)
Andrew mar 2nd CAROLINE E. BROWN -- who was b 10 Feb 1819; d 25 Nov 1899; bur Beaverdam Bapt Ch Cem, Fair Play, Oconee Co, SC. No known issue 2nd mar.
Most of this information was derived from family and cemetery records. If this is your Andrew J., he would be easy to prove through Military, Masonic and Church records.
Note: I have recently volunteered to publish "Visit Our Family Tree" online. I am in the process of extracting its 400 plus pages of info into a workable database. I plan for the website to be a searchable database and repository for all of us interested in the Marett line & its related branches. I hope to have the website up and running sometime early 2007. Please let me know if you would like to be informed of its launch.
