Hi Susan,

Thank you so much for the information you sent. Now I have added 2 children to the family of Daniel Horton and Mary Ezell, in addition to some further information that I've found since reading your post.

I would be very interested in learning more from you about Rhoda Horton and John O'Quin and their family.

I am descended from Rhoda's sister, Lucy Ann Horton (14 Oct 1761 - 27 Nov 1846) and her husband, William Williams (15 Mar 1753 - 20 Sep 1831).

William and Lucy Horton Williams are my 7th Great Grandparents. They were married 16 Oct 1777 in Kershaw District, SC, where they remained and raised a family.

I only have 3 children listed for them so far, but I'm sure there are more.

William and Lucy's son, Joshua Williams, is my 6th Great grandfather through his daughter Ann Elizabeth Williams. Joshua Williams was born 31 Mar 1778 and died in Kershaw Co. in 1850. I have not been able to determine the name of his wife thus far.

Ann Elizabeth married Abram Young before 1829 in SC, and raised a large family of 10 children. She was born 28 Dec 1811 and died 5 Sep 1868. Abram Young was born in 1808 and died 26 Jun 1872.

For Daniel Horton and Mary Ezell, I now have listed 5 children: Lucy Ann, Martha, John, Rhoda and Daniel.

I do not have further information on Martha Horton, other than that she was born on 25 Sep 1763 in Virginia.

John Horton was born in Virginia in 1768, and married Elizabeth Ivey before 1793. Their son, Jesse Horton, was born that year in Kershaw Co. He died 24 May 1880, and was married twice, fathering 10 children. I have downlines on a couple of Jesse Horton's children.

Of course, now I am exploring more information on the descendants of Rhoda and Daniel Horton.

As for Daniel Horton Sr.'s family, he was the son of Amos Horton and Sarah Peebles, who married in 1734. It appears that all the children I have for them were born in VA, and that they later moved to SC.

Amos Horton was born 1706 in Surry Co. VA and died in Lancaster District, SC, in 1791. He was the son of Daniel Horton (1692, England - circa 1714 Surry Co. VA) and Martha Timms, and the grandson of David Horton (1654 - 1737) and Esther King.

Sarah Peebles Horton was born 1708 in Brunswick Co. VA and died in SC in 1780. She was the daughter of William Peebles (born 1670 in Brunswick Co.) and Elizabeth Hamlin (born 1676 in VA), and the granddaughter of William Peebles (born 1635 in Kilcoquhar, Fife, Scotland) and Judith Drayton.

I have 9 children listed for Amos and Sarah: Amos Jr., Henry Claiborne, Daniel, William, Jesse, John, David, Thomas and Rebecca.

Amos Horton, Jr. married Virginia Peebles in Mar 1767. I have downlines on 3 of their 8 children.

Henry Claiborne Horton married Milley Horton in VA in 1765. I only have one child for them, a son named Claiborne Horton. No further info. I don't have the names of Milley's parents either.

William Horton married Elizabeth Brewer in 1771, and they had a family of 8 children. I only have a downline for one of their sons, Sterling Horton.

Thomas Horton married Orender Bush on 1 Nov 1802. I don't have further information on this couple, but Thomas died 24 Jul 1841 in Decatur Co. IN.

I will be happy to forward the entire report to you on email. If you use FTM software, I can email a .FTW file that you can import directly to your program, or I can send a PDF file if you don't have the same software. Just let me know which you prefer.

I have added you to my contact list, so we can keep in touch. Any further info that you'd like to share on your branch of the family will be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you! :)
