William M. Regan or Reagan was living in Habersham County, Georgia in the 1870 Census. According to this census he & all his family members were born in South Carolina. A yahoo search shows that Habersham County, Georgia adjoins Oconee County, South Carolina, whereas Oconee County adjoins Anderson County & Pickens County SC so I’m wondering if the William Reagan/Regan family was from one of the South Carolina counties mentioned in my message. William M. Regan owned $200 worth of real estate in 1870 while a resident of Habersham County & moved to Habersham County after the birth of his son William J.
