Below I am posting a link to the geneology that claims that Thomas Ruddell is the originator of the Ruddell line in the United States.
Next, I am posting the geneology that asserts that John Ruddell was the initiator of the Ruddells in the states.
Both lines claim sons Isaac and George with the same dates of death. Since it is highly unlikely that a John Ruddell and a Thomas Ruddell would have sons with the same names and death dates, there must be a mistake in one of these lines. Perhaps there was a John Thomas Ruddell or a Thomas John Ruddell who went by both John and Thomas. After all, I am Melvin Dwight Ruddell but my name is in print sometimes as Dwight and sometimes as Melvin.
This seems to be the most plausible theory. Another less plausible would be that John is the son of Thomas. If anyone has information that can resolve this discrepency, I would appreciated it. I would like to know who my great x 6 grandfather is.
