Just as I suspected, a Routien by any other name such as Routon is one and the same.My research leads me to believe the original French name "Routien" has been anglicized to become at least Routon and some of the other close spellings as well. Our ancestor John H. Routien (Also listed as Routon in a marriage record in Lincoln KY) migrated to Lawrence Co. Illinois. Also looking for info on his wife Margaret Ends
