My name is Louise (Ross) Martinez. I was wondering if you found any information on the Hugh Ross you were looking for? If I am right, Hugh Ross may have been my Great Grandfather’s brother. My father was Adam Ernest Ross, his father was Arthur Donald Ross, his father was Donald Ross (born 1835) who married Sarah Talbot and his parents were Hugh and Mary Ross. Sounds like your Hugh was Donald’s brother and they married Talbot sisters. Sarah Talbot’s father was James Talbot, not John, who was living with Donald and his second wife, Eugenia (Sarah had died) according to an 1880 census. Do you know for sure that Margaret’s father’s name was John? It has been hard getting information about Hugh and Mary and I have nothing before them. If it ends up we are from the same tree, I would enjoy corresponding.
