Hello, I`m looking for anyone else that is researching the Romigs who were born in Pennsylvania then moved to Ohio and ended up in Marshall Co. Indiana. Plus I would like to make sure my info. is 100% correct. I have John and Anna Romig.John died at age 77 yrs. 11 months and 17 days.Anna Romig died 3-28-1882 at age 60. They are buried at Zions Cemetery in Culver,Marshall Co.Indiana I have the 1860 cencus for Indiana it reads. John Romig 54 yrs. male,white Birthplace PA. He was a farmer,and he could read.He lived in Marshall Co. Union twp. 1.Anna-40 B.P.-PA 2.Julia Ann 21 B.P.Ohio 3.Abraham 19 B.P. Ohio 4.Solomon 4 B.P. Indiana The newspaper article i have states, John Romig died near Zions Reformed Church.It says he was Born in Union Co. Pennslyvania on 2-16-1806.He moved to Ohio in 1828 and then to Indiana in 1847. He was married twice having a son with his first wife. and sixs sons and one daughter with his second wife (Anna). It says both wives and three sons died before him.He was a member of the Reformed Church.It states his funeral took place 2-5-1884 and it was on a Sunday. A article on Anna Romig says Mrs. Romig wife of John Romig and mother of A. Romig of Wolf Creek died Tuesday night,another says,Anna near Marmont IN. 3-28-1882 60 yrs.10 months and five days died leaving behind a husband three sons and a daughter to mourn her death it says Anna to was a devote member of the Mt.Zions Reformed Church. Solomon Romig was my G-G-Grandfather he was born on 9-3-1855 in Marshall Co. IN. he married Josephine (Hill). They had five children.They also lived in Kanas.Solomon was a peanut farmer i was told. 1. Etna Mae Romig b-8-6-1881 m Arthur W. Morgan 2.Bessie Romig m A.C.Clark 3.Jenny Romig 4.Ruth Romig 5.Josephine (Jenny)Romig On Solomon Death Certificate it says mother Anna Romig`s maiden as (Schuck). and John Romig as the Father. Also a lady sent me pictures of there cemetery,And it had other Romigs. 1.John W. Romig 1870-1940 2.Bertha P. Romig 1880-1915 same stone as John`s. The next one is a Military one it list two people the stone reads Woodmen of the World Membrial. 1.John I. Romig 4-27-1874 died 8-18-1912 Julia 12-6-1874 died 6-1-1960 Another lady sent me some info from a newspaper which says Abraham Romig died in 1892,it was in the Plymouth Marshall Co. Republican.She also writes she found Abraham in the Marshall Co. Veterens grave registration in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Union Twp. Grave 5 lot 243. Solomon died in Marengo twp. MI. on 9-3-1935 on his 80th B-day. Hope to hear from someone who might know something about this family. THANK YOU, Fulisa |
