Thank you for responding! My husband's grandfather's name was Macsin Bou, and he was listed as having been born in Vlachowitz, Yugoslavia (he as also listed on the same records as being a subject of the Kingdom of the Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes)on his Declaration of Intention papers of 1923. His 1930 marriage record lists him as born in Romania, however. (His parents were named as Peter Bou and Angeline Ullman on the marriage record.) His daughter's 1933 birth certificate lists him as from Vlaicovetti, Yugoslavia!
My husband's mother, Macsin's daughter, said that he never spoke his original language. He died in 1950. Thank you for any help in locating Macsin's hometown!
