I don't think that anyone knows who Dempsey's first wife was. Elizabeth was married to a Reynolds after Dempsey died and can be found on the 1850 census in Halifax, NC as Elizabeth Reynolds. I think that Jeptha Pritchett had the name wrong. She was probably still in GA at that time, going by when he died. Keziah made an application for a land bounty warrant in Randolph County, Alabama based on her first husband, David Moore's, service in the Revolutionary War. I think she was married to Jeptha sometime after 1810. I have all of Dempsey's land records from GA. One names him Dempsy Johnson of Halifax County, NC. Later when he sold land, Elizabeth had to do a release of dower. They originally settled in Henry County, GA. I have been doing alot on the Henrico County, VA stuff right now on the Farrars, Womacks, Jeffersons and others. I've also been working on the Howards back in York, VA.
