My gggrandmother was Martha Rice, b. 1825, Alabama. Her father is said to be Elick Snow of Tenn. As she is said to be Cherokee and in their tradition, she took her mother's last name. We know her mother was from Georgia, but have no first name. This comes from a piece of paper inserted in a family bible (for ease of removal during that time). Martha married Starling F. Hopkins from Georgia, and lived in Alabama. They were married in Benton, Alabama. If anyone has any information it would greatly be appreciated. Lisa
