ii. PARRIE KING, b. Abt. 1870; d. Unknown; m. WILEY BURNS; d. Unknown.

Notes for PARRIE KING:

Emily: I found Jasper King's daughter, Augustus Parrie King Burnes on the OK census a couple of days ago. If you

remember,Mary Freeman mentioned in her letters the death of two of Parrie's children, then by 1900 in Floyd County, she had had 5 and 2 were living. She had married Wiley Burns here in GA and sometime after 1900 she and Wiley went West. The reason I found her was I was looking for W. Henry Boggs who married Fannie Burns. I found them living

in OK in 1930 and next door was Wiley and 2 of his later children. I then looked for him and Parrie in earlier years.I never knew before that W. Henry Boggs actually married Mary Frances Burnes, Wiley and Parrie's daughter! I had always looked for a Fannie Burnes with her parents and didn't know what had happened to W. Henry Boggs or Parrie and

her husband after 1900. W. Henry Boggs' brother obit in 1937 said he had a brother living in Oklahoma City, so I decided to look there and Bingo, I found that couple and also Parrie and Wiley. That's why I think obits are so important. Have not found a volunteer in Carter

County, OK to look up obits, but found that W. Henry had a son, Lawrence after he moved

to TX. They later moved to Carter County, AR. I found a good bit on Lawrence, including

his enlistment in WWII and his dates from SS Death Index. I went on a hunch that the only

other Boggs who died in Carter County could have been his wife and she was. I went to

the online newspaper there and got her obit. She had been married before and they were

married in 1976, so he was 63 when he married her. Sure would like to get his obit. He

died in 1998, but the archives of the newspaper don't go back that far. I may try writing the

library there. Our library does lookups like that all the time. Anyway, that's Boggs stuff and

I know you aren't interested in that so back to Parrie King:

1900 Floyd County, GA Texas Valley ED 123 pg. 9:

Burnes, Wiley 34 b Nov. 1865 GA, Augustus P. 31 b. Dec. 1867 had 5 children, 2 living, GA,

Mary F. 13 b March 1887 GA, Anna May 3 b. May 1897 GA. married 17? years

1910 Morgan, Carter County, OK, ED 54 Sheet 13 B May 10 & 11:

Burns, Wylie 47 b. GA parents MS, Parry 44 b. GA parents GA , married 28 years, had 11 children 3 living, Annie 13 b. GA, Pearly 5 b GA

1920 Morgan, Carter County, OK, ED 57 Sheet 17A February 19-20:

Burnes, Wiley D. 57 b. GA parents GA, Parrie A. 54 b. GA parents in GA, Pearl L. 15 b. GA,

1930 Morgan, Carter County, OK, ED 13 Sheet 5 B Apr. 18:

Burns, Wiley D. 65 widower b. GA parents GA, Joe, son, 7 b. OK father GA

mother TX, Woodrow 2 6/12 b. OK father GA,mother TX.

A marker in Sand Springs cemetery, Floyd County, GA reads: Infant twins of W.D. and Parry Burns.

So Parrie died between 1920 and 1930 and Wiley Burnes remarried and had Joe and Woodrow

and then I guess that wife died.

Emily
