Dear Glynda It was lovely to hear from you. I had found your earlier messages on genforum and mailed your old e-mail to no avail, so I thought that something had happened your end. It is great to make contact with my mother's family and hello. Your father had a sister Dessie born in Haverfordwest in 1908, my grandmother. Let me now explain the remaining family members. Arthur I know but have yet to trace his death certificate died. Your father went to Australia in I believe late 1925 at the age of 19, if the records I have researched are correct. The children were as follows: Arthur born in 1903; Mary born in 1904; Herbert born in 1906; Dessie born in 1908; Bronwen born in 1911 and died in 1911: Catherine born in 1913; Elizabeth born in 1915. Mary was the one who went to France during the war and apparently came back and tried tracing her family again through the Salvation Army, what happened next I do not know. My grandmother, grandfather, mother and uncle moved between London and Bristol during the war as my grandfather originated from Bristol. Your aunt Elizabeth supported a staircase during the war to protect her two children Marjorie and Brian from injury after the house was bombed. Look forward to hearing from you, as I have lots more to explain about Edwin and his 11 brothers and sisters and Priscilla and the information I have. I have been researching the family on and off for the last few years and have kept meeting dead ends. I am so glad I persisted. Kind regards Claire |
