I know of the marriage between your Elizabeth Michel and Johannes Reeb. I don't believe I found them in the census records after their marriage, so I have some loose ends. However, I believe that this Johannes Reeb was not related to the majority of the Reebs in St. Clair County, Illinois but was a brother to Christian Reeb who was born 22 January 1822 in Rockenhausen, Pfalz, Bayern to Johannes Reeb and his wife, Anna Barbara Kieffer. They had 8 children that I know of... and next to the youngest was Johannes born 20 April 1829 and baptized 22 Apr. 1829 in the Catholic church at Rockenhausen. Also, as I say I could not find John & Elisabeth Michel in census however, I believe that they were parents to one John Reeb born (according to 1900 census) July 1861. This John Reeb married Anna Maria Gindler 23 Feb 1892. They had at least four children that I know of. They were Estella, born Jan 1893; Oscar, born Sep 1895; Melvina, born Dec 1896, and finally John J. born 3 Jan 1899. This John Reeb was enumerated as "John Rappe" in error, due to the German pronunciation of REEB sounding like RAPE in English and he lived in 1900 in New Haven Township, Galatin County, Illinois. John J. Reeb who would have been grandson of John Reeb who married Elizabeth Michel died 3 Apr 1966 in Nevada County, California. Anna Maria Gindler, the wife of John Reeb, son of Elisabeth Michel, was born 11 Nov 1868 in Illinois. Her parents were Margaret Englehard and Charles Gindler. I do not have the death records for the two older John Reebs in this family but if I am correct in what I have written above I do have the lineage of this family back in time to a Johann Heinrich Reeb who was born about 1678 and who died 27 Aug 1746 in Katzenbach, near Rockenhausen. I am John V. Reeb, but not related.
