Am seeking information on Stephen Ratcliff b. c1820 VA. m. Savannah King b. c1822 VA. and his children. I find the family in the 1850 Russell Co., VA. census and in 1860 I find the family in Jefferson Co, TN. I am trying to find the father of my late husband's great grandfather William Price Ratcliff. I do know the mother was Martha Easterly b.TN. and she and her family were also in the 1860 Jefferson Co., TN census. Martha is listed as the wife of Mr. Ratcliff. The Easterly family moves on to Robertson Co., TX and William Price Ratcliff is listed with his grandfather Moses Easterly. He later leaves TX and settles in AL. A brother-in-law often said he believed Jesse Ratcliff was the father of William. I find a Jesse listed with Stephen in the 1860 census. Could he be the father of William? |
