I am looking for information on any existing family of Horace Edward Ramsden VC (born 1879 in Chester).He was awarded the VC at the Siege of Mafeking during the Anglo Boer war.The family was originally from Huddersfield, Yorkshire.Horace was the third son of Rhodes Ludlam Ramsden and Mary Ramsden (nee Maddock).With the exception of WALTER HOUGHTON RAMSDEN (5th son of RLR)this side of the family emigrated to South Africa, prior to the Boer War.
