It may be of a little, interest, but Sir Charles Hobby's great great grandson, Charles Hobby Pond, became Governor of Ct in 1853. One of his great grandsons, Peter Pond b 1740 Milford, was the great fur trapper and explorer, co-founder of the Northwest company, discoverer of the Northwest Passage, inspiration to Sir Alexander McKenzie, provided maps used by Lewis and Clark, and helped settle the border between the US and Canada. Sir charles Hobby was Knighted by Queen Anne in 1705. He and brother Capt John Hobby were in the Carribean trade and sent their sons to Harvard. It was Sir Charles' daughter Mary who was the grandmother of Peter Pond.
