Hello: I am searching for a James Purser that was in
Washington Co. Ga. in the 1830 Census. Think he could
be the father of my gggrandfather William M. Purser. The
census stated that James was 50 years old in 1830 that would
make him b abt 1780. Listed with wife 50 yrs old in 1830. Would make them born about the same time. There were
3 sons and 2 daughters listed with them. A gentleman by email was trying to help me and he found a James Purser on
tax list of Washington Co. residents who drew land in several counties in Ga. Said there was also a list of Purser children in the Washington Co. poor school by the names of William age 12, John age 10 & Alfred age 8 in 1832.This William could possibly be my gg grand that I am looking for.
My William M. Purser showed up in Simpson County in 1850
census married, but have been unable to trace him back to
Ga. where it states he was born. Have been unable to find
parents & siblings. I was wondering if you could have come
across this James or William in your search. The census
listed that Williams parents came from NC but did not list
names. Anything you can give me will be appreciated.
Thanks,
