Purdy, Ira, Kent County. Enlisted in company F, Second Cavalry, Oct. 23, 1861, at Grand Rapids, for 3 years, age 21. Mustered Oct. 1861. Discharged for re-enlistment in company B, First Battalion, Mississippi Marine Brigade, Jan. 20, 1863.

I think this is Ira Purdy, son of Gilbert and Maria (Giffin) Purdy. In Find-A-Grave there is a headstone that is probably his in Forest Home Cemetery, Greenville, Montcalm, MI. "Ira Purdy, Co F, 2nd MI Cav."
