Thanks for your info, this may be a lead! Your Wm. b. 1802, Aiken, is one I never found before. Do you have anything on his wife's name? Did he have a daughter born in 1830? My gggrandmother was named Caroline. She was born in SC on 6/18/1830, I know that much, but it has taken me ten years to find out her parents names (William and Cynthia) I have a copy of a will for a William C. Posey,of Edgefield Co. SC, dated 11/16/1834 which mentions a daughter named Caroline Rose, but he couldn't be yours if your Wm. died in 1855.
