Hello Susan, I know your post is from 2004, so I hope you get this. I would love any information you can give me on the Portwoods or direct me to any sites. Benjamen Portwood was my Gx6 grandfather. Lula Portwood Pearson(my GG Grandmother) was his Gx4 granddaughter and she was the daughter of Levi Portwood. Boy this sounds so confusing! She must of thought highly of her grandfather, James Madison, as she named her son Carl Madison.
