Dempsey Portwood married 24 Dec 1816 to Mary Patsy Phillips Dempsey Portwood married Delihah of whom the Portwoods of Sandy Cross Portwoods decend, children follow: Willie D Portwood born 21 Jul 1820 m. Espa Mortimer Jackson Joel Portwood born 1824 unm. died in civil war. Elizabeth Ann Portwood born 1826 m. James W Billingsley Frances Portwood born 1829 m.Radford G Jackson brother of Espa Mary Jane Portwood born 18 Apr 1832 m1George W. Jarrett m2 Thomas J Edwards Thomas Portwood born 1835 (No further information) William Daniel Portwood born 1838 died in the civil war Nancy Portwood born 1841 (No further information) Sarah W. Portwood born 1843 m Jackson W. Hendricks. Sarah's daughter Belle married my ancestor Jesse Portwood's son Julius Jesse Portwood.
