I located a couple of pieces of information for Nathan Michael and Rose Miller.
There is a Social Security death index for Nathan Miller. He was born on May 21, 1916 and died in May 1982 in Jamaica, Queens County, NY 11419 (, SSN# 127-07-4885).
There is also a 1940 U.S. census record for the family. In 1940, Nathan, Rose and Barry Miller resided at 1726 Davidson Avenue in New York, Bronx County, NY. Both Nathan and Barry were born in New York. Rose was born in Poland and she was already a naturalized citizen by 1940. According to the census, the family lived at the same address in 1935. Nathan was employed as a route man for a dairy.
Finally, there is a Manhattan marriage index for a Rosa “Akerstein” and Michael N. Miller. They were married on March 3, 1936 in Manhattan County, NY and were assigned certificate #7498.
Here are links to sites that describe what information is contained in New York marriage documents and how to obtain copies of that information.
Rosa was only 16 or 17 years old when she got married in 1936. It would appear to me that she did not immigrate to the U.S. alone. She probably immigrated with at least one parent. Also, the fact that she was already a naturalized citizen by 1940 indicates to me that Rosa’s father was the one who was naturalized and she automatically became a citizen because she was a minor child at the time of his naturalization.
It seems that the Manhattan County, NY marriage documents would have the names of both Michael and Rosa’s parents.
Also, Nathan/Michael Miller’s Social Security application (Form SS-5) would have the names of his parents.
