An Invitation to All Descendants of James and Martha Hughes Pillers. Plans are underway for a family reunion, to be held early in the summer of 2000, at a location near the Pillers' original Southern IL homestead. James and Martha built their home in the late 1700s a few miles north of Chester, IL, not far from Fort Kaskaskia State Park, which sits on a high bluff overlooking the Mississippi River. We want to hold the reunion after school is out but before it gets too hot. We invite you to send your ideas for the following: -Suggested reunion date in early summer 2000 -Suggested location -Suggested format (such as, a casual potluck picnic outside, optional dress-up dinner, visits to historic and family-related sites) -Lodging preferences motel,bed-and-breakfast, camping, RV parking) The Chester area has a good hotel and smorgasbord, several bed-and-breakfast inns, and camping in several parks. A few miles across the Mississippi River from Chester is Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, a quaint, historic river town that has b&bs and motels, as well as several good restaurants. We also are putting together a reunion mailing list, including names, addresses, e-mail addresses, and telephone numbers for everyone interested in receiving information about our event. Please send us contact information for anyone else you know who would like to be added to the list. We appreciate your help in planning our reunion, and we look forward to seeing you in Illinois in 2000!
