Thanks. Doesn't sound like a match. My great grandmother died in about 1897, and had two children (Joseph Bancroft and Kate). According to census records she was born in Alabama, and the family story is that her father was a riverboat captain, possibly the original immigrant in that line. That's everything I know. She's a puzzle. Good luck on your search.
