I just happened upon this site today and what a thrill. Thomas P. Pelot is my great-grandfather on my father's side. My grandmother, Lalla Theresa Pelot Dewey, (my father's mother-Benjamin Harold Dewey), I thought was their 3rd child. I have the Colket's Pelot's genealogy book and it gave me great information. In there it says that there were 5 children, Lalla was the last one born in 1864 the year her father died. Charlie Summerall (President of the Citadel & Army Chief of Staff) was was grandmother's first cousin. She visited him when a statue was dedicated in Savanagh, GA. I believe he wrote me that his grave is in Norfolk, VA - will look up a letter he sent me. My great-grandmother, Clara Theresa Freeman Pelot is buried in a cemetery in NJ. I have an older sister and younger brother. My grandmother had 3 children, and they had 6 children. 4 of these grandchildren are living and there are 18 great-grandchildren and 6 great,great grandchildren. I have some papers from the National Archives also. Anyone who is a Pelot should get the Colket's book. Janice Brown
