Don, Yes, I was digging in the same document yesterday and have entered what you wrote. I found a Bob in the Peck forum, bob@juch.org that had a #4 Samuel (the shipmaster) married to Mehitable Ingersol on Jan 13, 1796 which is the same information I have. He listed a child of theirs as "unknown male". I assume that must be Charles Peck who was married to Teresa Ray and they were the parents of my great grandmother, Angenette Peck. I will search for more information on this "unknown male", who I believe to be Charles Peck. BTW, Angenette Peck had a sister, Julia, b. 11 Sept 1831, who married Elias Twist. I have a diary of her trip from NY to SF across the Isthmus of Panama in search of Elias who had left earlier to find gold in California. She arrived and found him, as their graves are near Sonora, CA (my mother took photos). I plan to transcribe the diary on ancestry.com in the future (it is quite interesting). The original copy resides at the Bancroft Library at the University of California, Berkeley. |
