Kim, I believe you are correct on the marriage of Sion Pearson Sr. to Rebecca Fryer. I have a copy of the same letter from Sion Jr and William Carter to my ancestor Joseph Pearson. I know Sion Sr. was still alive in early 1820, he is mentioned in an estate division of his first wife Polly Shaw's father, Samuel Shaw in Maury Co., TN. It lists him as living in Jackson Co. at the time. I do not find him after that and Rebecca married Charles Carter soon after.
