My name is Christopher David Pearre (age44) and an a 5-great grandson of James Pearre b.1680 & Mary Thompson m.1721

I was curious as to how I might be able to track down more information on our family.

I do have an old copy of "The Pearre Quarterly" Vol.1, number 2, May 1975 in which myself, Father & Grandfather are pictured...

I think I may have found all of my generations but can find no tree to support my findings.

My family line goes like this....working backwards in time.

Father-Mother : Donald Howe Pearre b.1936 / Gera Lee Crockett m.1955

GrandParents: Charles Thomas Pearre b.1909 md / Kay Breeden

1st Greats : Charles Brashear Pearre b.1861 / Elvira Elizabeth Cooley b.1872

2nd Greats : James A. Pearre ( _____ ???) & Ann Rebecca (_______ ???) *Found this info by photo in Quarterly*

3rd Greats : Alexander Jr. Pearre b.1757 & Tabitha Brashears m.1791 MD

4th Greats : Alexander Sr. Pearre b.1723 / Sarah Beall bef. 1740

5th Greats : James ( __________ ) Pearre b.1680 & Mary Thompson m.1721

I grew up in Rockville, MD but all my family on my Mother's side were from Gaithersburg, MD. I now live in California but visit Maryland & Virginia every summer. Next summer I am taking my 9 year old...Rachel Anne Pearre to Sugarloaf Mountain to see Stronghold & the old school house where my Great-Grand Mother Elvira Elizabeth Cooley taught school. I also understand that Great-Grand Father Charles Brashear Pearre worked for Colonel Strong breeding race horses. I made contact with the people running Stronghold and requested a brouchure and photo for my records. I also have an old clipping showing a photo of the James Pearre House. There have been so many James Pearre's I can't tell who's who.

Anyway...if you have any trees or info it would be greatly appreciated....I think I might be missing a generation...don't know!

I am working on updating our family tree for the coming generations. I am scanning all written and photographic documents onto CD's for my Daughter, her children and her children's children.....by then I will be a Great-GrandFather...I'll never see that day...but they will know my smile and our lineage.

I hope all is well with you and I look forward to hearing from any of my family as I am the last first born male in our family branch! The next generation is all girls.

If anyone can point me in a direction it would be greatly appreciated.

God Bless and Keep Smiling,
Christopher David Pearre b.12-1-1958 (every day above ground is a good day)
