Found in Rowan Co. Will Index, 1753-1837, a William Patterson with some Hunters. Also found a Mary Hunter with a William and a Charles Patterson, a Mary Hempter, which was later changed to Hunter. Looking for parents of James H. Patterson, born 1812, somewhere in NC. Most likely in Chatham, Orange, or Rowan counties, but who knows? Any leads on the possible Hunter connection appreciated, as we have no proof on what the H could stand for.
