I wanted to say to the person inquiring about Joshua Doan that a Joshua Doan was indeed in the Rebellion of 1837. Specifically he was among the Yarmouth men, designated Doan's Spartan Rangers who engaged in the so called "Duncombe Uprising," the western part of the 1837 Rebellion. Joshua Doan was later hanged following the trial at London, Upper Canada. Coincidentally, after over 20 years research, I have just finished writing a 490 page book on the entire subject of the Patriots' War and its aftermath, and mention of Joshua is included in the book in the section of the London trials.
